NEWS: THE 25TH THAT NEVER HAPPENED - "REMEMBERING THE CEO- DAGRIN"

25th of October 2010 came along like every other day but to Mr. and Mrs. Olaniyi Abolaji Olaonipekun, friends, fans and family- It was a day to remember and celebrate the birth of a great star now gone to sleep...DAGRIN
Da Grin, formerly known as Oladapo Olaitan Olaonipekun would have turned a year older on the 25th of October 2010, instead we are left to remember the enigma that passed through the earth for a brief moment before moving on to the other side.
He passed away on April 22nd, 2010, after complications from a car accident, eight days before as the late rapper’s car ran into a parked lorry in front of Alakara Police station, Mushin. He was buried amidst throngs of thousands of fans at Ebony Private Vault, Atan cemetary on Friday April 30th, 2010.
Dagrin ,26, was a recording artiste, songwriter, rapper and performer. He was signed to his own label Missofunyin Entertainment and managed by Edlyne.
His sophomore album, THE CEO, got mad attention and quadrupled in sales after his demise and the speaker-banging chart burster single off the album- "Pon Pon Pon" keeps gathering more and more awards as the year rolls by.

Close friend YQ, has dedicated “Miss You” a tribute song composed by him for Dagrin, taken from his current album, "I AM YQ."
In YQ’s words: “Dagrin remains evergreen in my heart- a true friend and a brother things are not the same without him here, but I’ll continue do all i can to keep his footprints alive, i miss him a lot”

HIS LYRICS..still on the lips of every boy and girl on the streets; HIS MUSIC....still playing on every DJ's turntable; HIS VOICE...loud and clear through the speakers on every corner.

Da Grin, you will greatly be missed and you'll always be dear to the hearts of the entire Wahala Media Family.

We love you and we remember you today...sleep on beloved!!

NEWS: UTI NWACHUKWU OF NIGERIA WINS BIG BROTHER ALL STARS!!!

Its been 91 days of fun and at the end of it all Uti Nwachukwu has won the Big Brother All stars taking the US Dollars 200,000 prize plus the one thousand dollars after fellow housemates failed to guess his secret. The show kicked off with highlights of the five finalists before crossing to the evicted housemates that came on stage one by one.

Sammy led the evicted housemates followed by our own Hannington Kuteesa who the crowd cheered for some minutes before other evicted housemates joined to be part of the show. When Meryl  came on stage, she was asked to choose between the money and the man, she chose her man Mwisho.

The first housemate to leave the house was Sheila from Kenya who said that it was hectic being in the house for 91 days but now she is going to have fun. Mwisho followed her in that order leaving behind three housemates i.e. Lerato, Munya and Uti.

Mwisho left with his $ 1,000 as no one got his secret which was to do with dating twoTanzanian babes at the same time and when they learnt of it, bottles were exchanged over their heads.

The third housemate to leave the house after Mwisho, and Sheila had left was Lerato. Its funny how Lerato beats Mwisho a bonafide finalist and yet for her she fluked to bounce back to the house after a game/twist that was put up by Big Brother. This is what marked the closure of the barn house.

This was followed by a music interlude that saw Wyre on stage do his ''Say Dat'' track before IK bounced back with how one MNET Official felt about the show and among others she noted the proposal in the house plus the barn house which were very unique when it came to the Big Brother All Stars.

The man who has made every woman on the African continent feel like a queen came on stage and this was none other than 2Face Idibia and shortly after, it was time to know the winner of the Big Brother Africa All Stars and the winner was Uti with 8 countries voting for him and 7 countries for Munya who was in shock.

The Big Brother All stars kicked off on July 18 with 14 contestants from 14 countries and has been broadcasting live on channel 198 which was exclusive to those on DSTV. Uganda was represented by Hanningtion Kuteesa who got disqualified after a fight with South Africa's Lerato who finished third in the popular live television show that ended on July 17, 2010.

EVENTS: STREET PROJECT ENTERPRISES PRESENTS "PROJECT RAW: STRAIGHT FROM THE STREETS"

Street Project Enterprises is a social enterprenuerial scheme focused on youth development and empowerment.created by a highly focused young lady, Rita Omovbude.

Largely known for their annual charity event tagged "A Smile for December" which usually holds towards the end of the year, Rita succesfully puts smiles on as many faces of orphans and motherless babies as she can, ensuring that food and supplies are made available to these children during the yuletide season.
Now she's got another one up her sleeve. Rather than take the same route for all talent competitions happening these days- call ups for auditions, acqusition of forms etc, Rita decided to go down a very different path- She took the camera to the streets.
Meeting up with lots of youths at bus stops, streets and corners; Rita and her team came up with amazing discoveries of budding young talents who were very eager to sing, dance and show off their skills in comedy, right there on the streets with no inhibitions.
Project Raw kicked off in full bloom as scores of youths were given free audtions and finally narrowed down to 15 finalists. The project seeks to discover and reward three extraordinary raw talents in music, dance and comedy at the end of the competition with cash prizes.
Handling the job as judges and mentors for Project Raw are three talented young professionals in the creative arts industry of Nigeria and they are Tolu Ajayi (Director of  MNET TV series, Tinsel -Season 2); Nikki Laoye (Urban/Contemporary Christian Artist) and James Useghan (Head of the Student body of the Creative Arts Department, University of Lagos)

L-R - Rita Omovbude, James Useghan, Nikki Laoye & Tolu Ajayi

The Project Raw Talent hunt holds at the Creative Arts Department Auditorium, University of Lagos on Saturday, 9th of October, by 2pm. This will be preceeded by a 2 day workshop on the 7th and 8th of October, 2010 for the 15 finalists, also holding at the Creative Arts Department,University of Lagos.

NEWS: NATIONAL ANTHEM + PRESIDENT GOODLUCK JONATHAN = NIKKI LAOYE

Many have longed for a moment like this and quite unexpectedly, it lands right on the lap of gospel crooner, Nikki Laoye. At the recent commissioning of the Ford Foundation building in Lagos, on Saturday 2nd of October,2010, which had the President as the special guest of honor, Nikki Laoye was invited to open the event with her own special rendition of the Nigerian National Anthem, with a touch of piano accompaniment.

Once President Goodluck Jonathan arrived, in a flurry of helicopter landings, and was escorted across the red carpet, Nikki let out the first note, with the magical touch which she is known for, to make our national anthem a worthy song that made everyone wonder for a moment if she was singing an actual composition, and not the anthem.
The non-stop flow of comments and handshakes from dignitries sealed the day for Nikki as she was commended for the exquisite delivery of our country's song in this special 50th independence season.

Well Done,Nikki.
